In the UK a 14-Day cooling off period applies where you have the right to cancel most online, phone, or mail order purchases of goods and services.

With this in mind I’d like to cancel my subscription to 2026, and revert to an earlier version. I hoped the new version would come with improvements over 2025, but the same problems seem to exist and the price of the optional extras have just gone up.

I think you will find I am still within the 14 day window, thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sorry, your request can not be met.

This provision applies to online and distance selling purchases so the buyer has the opportunity to inspect, then accept or reject the goods.

It does not apply where someone has made their purchase in person and especially where they have not relied on the expertise of the seller.

Where someone has knowingly selected a product and moved forwards with a purchase they are liable for any resulting costs.

Their only remedy would be damages if they can show a good faith basis why the product is not as expected, or performing as expected.

Given the experience of 2025 there was no reasonable basis to expect 2026 to be other than what it is and so the liability remains with those who elected to continue engaging with this year and its related consequences.
