I am not sure whether this fits to this community, but I just stumbled upon this and thought it’s a great project.

If you or someone you know can’t afford an Internet connection, get in touch with the National Databank. They provide free SIMs for people who are eligible.

Members of the ‘National Digital Inclusion Network,’ which is a network of organisations helping people use or access the internet locally, can apply for data packages anytime. SIM cards are distributed to these community hubs across the UK, who activate and gift the free mobile data to people experiencing data poverty or living on a low income in their community.

If anyone needs this, you should be able to walk into any O2 shop and just ask for a SIM, no questions asked

Sorry if I am misunderstanding, isn’t that how all SIMs work? But you have to pay money to get anything out of it.

In this case it’s a SIM you don’t have to pay for and it has credit on it

Haha after the announcement of “UK Lawmakers Propose Mandatory On-Device Surveillance” they also want to spy on the people that don’t have money for Internet.
