The emperor asked them to round up some peasants and bring them over some marshlands to a rendezvous. But when they finished rounding up the peasants, sudden rains turned the marsh into a swamp. There was no way they could get there in time.
Chen Sheng said “Looks like we’re gonna be late for this job.”
