Linux usage on Pornhub is up 22%. Steam Deck gooners are making the meme reality.

I mean… when I was a teenager I literally used my DSi with it’s built-in Opera browser for porn… well, at least I was able to see some pictures, because I don’t think any video playback was possible.

I’ve pretty much stopped in my old age but if people ask me questions about “big tech” then I really start to take them for a ride.

Right?! That’s my struggle now more than anything is just trying to get people to respect their own privacy and to care a bit more when when it’s violated or exchanged for something of lesser value (in my opinion)

I know the struggles with windows. Guess I am not to familiar with the MAC gripes other than the usual planed obsolescence, walled garden stuff. They aren’t jamming AI into it yet right? That got delayed I think?

I’ve never bought a laptop from a true Linux vendor but my impression is that system76 is the best and most reliable. I’ve heard very mixed things about framework.

Framework consider sponsoring companies with fascist links fine. The ceo said theyrr a big tent with room for all opinions.

A lot of people stopped being involved with them after that.

I know the Linux side is supposed to be represented by the character on the right.

But can we recognise the other party becomes that character once they have to defend/explain why they’re sticking to big tech?

They just ignore you or say “who cares?”. An average person doesn’t have the critical thinking skills an ideological/sceptical person does. They don’t want to know about alternatives to the things they use, because that would require energy, which we reflexively try to save for fictional danger, which never takes place.

Or they just don’t have the bandwidth. Lots of people talk about “spousal approval” when it comes to self hosting and stuff. If you’re strapped for time, resources and have lack of understanding, it can be a hard thing to tackle.

I genuinely LOVE it! I’ve had Mint twice, but I always had minor issues that added up with time. No such issues persist on Zorin (knock on wood).
