I found it very helpful to know them, so you can pinpoint the exact country in europe. Combined with the vegetation, language and EU-plates, you can pretty much get the country every time.

Somehow it never occurred to me that pedestrian street signs were unique to some countries…hugely useful, thanks for posting! :)
There are some pretty easy ones to remember: The progressive Swedes who have both sexes. The Polish who have just one bar, like their in their flag. The narrow, squeezed in slowakia with the “too” narrow stripes. The danish isles which are spread apart, like their stripes on the sign. (More or less) ex-soviet: Aliens
