On the other site, people complain a lot about players not ‘playing the objective’. But it seems to me that people have many own ways of doing that. What’s yours?

Back when we actively played it was “whatever will give us a good fight”, which mostly meant objectives or a close gunfight.

Getting jumped by bush camping sniper rat has always been the worst especially when it’s later in the match.

Playing the objective to me is getting the bounty, either directly by going to the boss’ lair, or ripping it out of the cold dead hands of enemies, and then extracting successfully.

If the bounty is already gone, I’m trying to survive.

If a gunfight erupts close to us, we usually try to engage, if there is no risk of the bounty escaping.

Defeat the boss, get the bounty and don’t let rhe bounty get away. Extracting without a bounty is not an option.

Haven’t played solo for a long time. But when I did, yes that’s the way. Maybe a bit more cautious, but still extraction without bounty wasn’t an option.

But is this fun for you? When playing as a trio those solos shooting sub sonic silencers from 150m are not even annoying and I always wonder if this isn’t terribly boring to play. The only chance you have is hitting three consecutive lucky headshots. I’d rather get closer and have a real fighting chance, even if you die sometimes.

Oh yes, for me it’s about the tension mainly. And using my advantage as a solo to be sneaky. I don’t actively avoid combat usually, but don’t go looking for it per se. I personally don’t run much silenced weapons anymore these days. The psychological impact of loud gunshots is really important in this game. And in the current event, I have had multiple fights where I get in between two teams duking it out. That was fun and probably added quite a bit of confusion to the shootout. Will do that more often!

I’ve only ever played solo, and I’m not particularly good at the game or anything. I don’t bother with Soul Survivor. I tend to play a bit opportunistic, a bit risk averse even. Check where I spawn, where the extraction point is where I’m planning to go to one and see what happens on the way. Maybe I’m just content with killing some AI. Or I get the jump on another player. I often extract without engaging. If other teams are duking it out at a compound, I usually give them a wide berth. The frustration is just at that tolerable level to me to make it fun to play.
