I have heard people in similar situations to Hangman say they stayed in contact because they wanted their creep to get better, and knew that wouldn’t happen if they didn’t have some kind of support. Granted, Hangman didn’t say that, and as far as I know Scurll has stuck to the ‘it wasn’t illegal’ defense, but I could see why someone would stay in touch.
